Dental Implants

What are dental implants?

A dental implant simulates the root of a tooth. It is made of high grade titanium. It is placed in the jaw and after a short period of healing, the implant becomes attached to the bone; A process called osseointegration. It is at this point that a crown can be attached to the implant; which serves as a pillar to hold the tooth in place.

Why Titanium?

Because it is well tolerated by our immune system, it does not cause infection. It is able to merge with the bone and be integrated into our body.

Am I a good candidate?

You are missing a tooth or several teeth?
Patients who have completed their growth in the maxilla and the mandible (exclusion of children and adolescents)
Patients with good dental hygiene, generally good health, good oral health and your jaw bone must be strong enough. In some cases a bone graft can also be made to increase bone mass.
