Exposure of teeth

Exposure of teeth

What is teeth exposure?

Under certain circumstances, a tooth can have trouble erupting and remains trapped under the gum or jaw bone. It is also possible that the tooth cannot erupt in the correct position on the dental arch. Canines are the most commonly affected teeth. This treatment is performed in collaboration with the orthodontist.

The traction unit

During orthodontic treatment we can proceed with surgically exposing the impacted tooth and place a traction device (small chain) that will allow to move the tooth in a gradual way. The tooth will reach its normal position on the dental arch while avoiding compromising or damaging other teeth.
